Top 5 Character that SURELY WONT be DLC in Super Smash Bros. 4

The Super Smash Bros 4 character roster has seen quite the upgrade lately. First the announcement of Mewtwo DLC, then Lucas and then the greatest addition of all -- the Smash Ballot. While there are rumors that the Next DLC characters MIGHT be Capcom's Ryu of Street Fighter, and Fire Emblem's own Roy might make a return in the Smash Ring since Meele, This article is about the Top 5 highly asked characters that have NO chance in hell of making it into SSB4. The point of this article isn't to be a buzzkill, but to be a realist. Mostly because of licensing issues and/or system limitations. Here they are:

5. King K. Rool from the Donkey Kong Series.

Who is he: King K. Rool is the Leader of the Gremlins and the enemy of Donkey Kong, who made his debut in Donkey Kong Country in 1994. King K. Rool has repeatedly tried to steal the Kongs' Banana Hoard for reasons unknown, though one of Rare's older websites has suggested that he takes the horde in order to starve the Kongs, in addition to personally liking bananas. He has even kidnapped members of the Kong Family on various occasions. After Bowser, King K. Rool is the second most recurring villain in the greater Mario continuity.

Why he WON'T be in it: Don't know. You can't say it's because of Rare. Diddy Kong was created by Rare, and he was in Brawl and in 4. There could be something else behind the scenes that is preventing the nemesis to the King of Swing (DK, not Cesaro) from entering the Smash Ring, but that's why he's Number 5 on this list.

4. Another Pokemon

With Mewtwo already announced as DLC, you think that would be it for the second biggest gaming franchise in history (Second to Mario) to enter the Smash Ring, but people must keep being greedy. On the Smash Ballot, the Pokemon that are being requested are not only Pokemon that have already entered the Smash Ring, (Pichu, Squirtle, Ivysaur) but Pokemon from regions NOT yet represented in Smash (Blaziken from Hoenn, Zoroark from Unova). There is no doubt in my mind, these requests will DEFINITELY fall on deaf ears.

Why they WON'T be in it: Obvious reason. With Mewtwo, the Pokemon reps. go up to 6, and obviously that is enough. There's enough Pokemon in Smash to make an ACTUAL team in Pokemon X and Y. It would be better for the slot to be filled by another character from a franchise YET to be represented in Smash.

3. Ridley from the Metriod Series.

Who is he: Ridley is a high-ranking Space Pirate, the archenemy of Samus Aran, and one of the most common recurring characters in the Metroid series, appearing in every Metroid game except for Metroid II: Return of Samus, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime Hunters. Ridley was even in that god-awful crapstain known as Metriod: Other M.

Ridley's appearance is considered similar to a skeletal dragon with glowing eyes. Ridley is known for being very defiant and persistent; though Samus has defeated him many times, he always manages to return and do battle with her, either through his healing abilities or robotic enhancements.

Why he WON'T be in it: Three reasons.

1. He's Already IN Super Smash Bros. (as a helper character in the Wii U version.)

2. He's too big.

3. Even Masahiro Sakurai himself said Hell No.

That's basically it....sorry.

2. Bayonetta from well....Bayonetta

Who is she: Bayonetta is the eponymous main character and protagonist of the Bayonetta series. She is a coquettish and mysterious Umbra Witch, who possesses a remarkable talent for the Bullet Arts and is the bearer of the Left Eye, that oversees the darkness.

Why she WONT be in it: Personally, I would like Bayonetta to be in Smash Bros., but there are the obvious reason why she probably won't enter the Smash Ring:

  • Sexual content is a big no-no, more so than violence for most parents. The Bayonetta games don't feature full on nudity or sex, but they are oozing with sexuality, from revealing costumes, to pole-dancing style moves, to suggestively sucked on lollipops, to "climax" finishing moves.

  • Nintendo plays it safe. They have M-Rated games on their consoles (like Bayonetta), but their first party titles are always family friendly. Smash is an extremely important title for Nintendo, and the last thing they want to risk is alienating families with it.

They already removed a trophy deemed to be too revealing (Tharja from Fire Emblem: Awakening). Tharja is not even particularly sexualized in her source game. If just a scantily clad trophy is too sexy to make the cut, then Bayonetta has no chance.

Heck, Some of her most devastating attacks involves her stripping, which doesn't bode well for the image of Super Smash Bros. although there ARE some arguments that say she could make it in.

  • Bayonetta does not need to be any more revealingly dressed than Zero Suit Samus. Sure, in the Bayonetta games, her clothes come off for some attacks, but this is actually a relatively minor detail in the games, which could easily be omitted while still doing proper justice to the character. If they left that out, then she actually shows off less skin than bikini ZSS and swimsuit Shulk.
  • Bayonetta would not be the first character with M-Rated games to make Super Smash Bros. The (only) other is Snake. To be sure, the Metal Gear Solid series and Bayonetta series got M-Ratings for very different reasons, but both were clearly not geared towards children. Both games feature guns, violence, coarse language, and more. Plus I think the Metal Gear Solid series is a lot darker thematically.
  • If her inclusion doesn't cross any boundaries that Nintendo hasn't already crossed with bikini ZSS or Snake representing M-Rated games, then it's hard to see how concerns like these could outweigh the many great reasons to include her.
Either way, only time will tell, But I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing the Sexy Witch entering the Smash Ring.

Update: Man do I feel like a jackass.

Corrin and Bayonetta revealed for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Honorable Mentions: Alternate versions of Characters ALREADY in the game. The list includes:

  • Paper Mario
  • Toon Zelda
  • Tetra (Seriously, Toon Zelda and Tetra are the same person).
  • Megaman Volnutt
  • Megaman.EXE....damn...

And the No. 1 Character is the only that I'm sure as hell, will NOT be in Super Smash Bros.

1. Son Goku of the Dragonball Series

Who is he: Why ask this question? Everyone knows who Son Goku is. He's like a Japanese Superman "wink, wink".

born Kakarot, Goku is the main protagonist of the Dragon Ball metaseries created by Akira Toriyama. He is the adoptive grandson of Grandpa Gohan, the husband of Chi-Chi, the father of Gohan and Goten, the grandfather of Pan, and later the great-great-grandfather of Goku Jr. Cheerful, courageous and also a bit naive, Goku is a Saiyan originally sent to Earth as an infant with the mission to destroy it. However, an accident alters his memory, causing him to grow up pure-hearted and later become Earth's greatest defender, as well as the informal leader of the Z Fighters. Throughout his life, he trains hard and strives to be the greatest warrior possible, while at the same time using his amazing strength and skills to uphold peace.

Why he WONT be in it: Wow. Where do I even begin with this?

1. He is NOT a video game character. He is an Anime/Manga character. Masahiro Sakurai himself even stated that the ONLY reqiurement for a character to enter the Smash ring is that THEY. MUST. HAVE. DEBUTED. IN. A. VIDEO. GAME. PERIOD!!! A tried and true video game character Goku is not.

Just because he has been in a ton of DBZ video games, (and you know and well as I do, there WILL be tons more) doesn't qualify him to be in Smash Bros. It's like saying John Cena will be in Smash just because he's been in a lot a WWE video games.

2. Goku is ALREADY set to be in another Super Smash Bros.-eque fighting game battling his fellow Anime/Manga characters from Shonen Jump.

3. There is possibly another world famous fireball shooting karate master on his way to the Smash Ring, so there is that.

So yeah, Goku is NO WAY in hell coming to Smash Bros. NOT EVER. Again, not to be a buzzkill, just being a realist.

See you humans later.
